An Oldie But Goldie Gram, the Chart Wheel and Kiddiegram Report for
Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
Born on the Summer Solstice of 1982.
The chart wheel is one that many astrologers noted was the chart of a future King.
Here is his original horoscope chart wheel and the Kiddiegram report that Lord Kiddie
distributed through the universe.
This astrological portrait of your child is intended to give you insight into his unique gifts and challenges. Much of a child's behavior which may puzzle or stymie his parents are quite normal, common "developmental stages" of childhood, and there are a number of fine books available on the subject which illuminate the predictable stages that children experience as they unfold. In addition to the universal patterns, each child is an individual with particular qualities, potentials, and needs, and an understanding of these can help you parent your child more wisely and effectively. Acceptance and appreciation for a child's basic nature, and an awareness of the places where there might be stress or difficulties for your child, can be important allies in your parenting.
You will find that the interpretation of your child's chart is written in simple language, uncluttered by astrological jargon. If a statement appears to contradict another statement, then he exhibits these opposite qualities at different times in his life. For example, a statement that he is highly sociable and gregarious and a statement that you prefer solitude seemingly contradict each other; this means that he vacillates, and needs both sociability and solitude at different times.

The RISING SIGN in the birth chart (also known as the Ascendant) shows how this child faces life, his basic attitude or stance toward the world, the way he comes across, and how he appears to others.
Sagittarius Rising:
An eager explorer, restless wanderer, high-spirited and energetic adventurer, this child is bound to keep you on the go. Even from a very young age, he is very curious and hates to be contained in any way. As a baby, he will need a great deal of motion (bouncing, going for outings in his stroller, being carried in a backpack), and later on when he is mobile himself, you may have a hard time keeping up with him. He needs plenty of space to dance, prance, gallop, cavort, and generally release his overflowing energy. He can be quite boisterous and wild in his play and he often has no sense of self-restraint or moderation. He is a bit of a daredevil, and if it has never been done before, he wants to do it. He can also be rather overwhelming to quieter, more cautious children, but on the other hand, his liveliness and good cheer tends to be contagious. He brings out the playfulness in other people.
There is an open, welcoming friendliness about him that others find quite appealing. He seems to expect good times, and he enjoys sharing them. He likes having many playmates, and while he may have a favorite, he does not like to be limited or held back by anyone. In fact, he balks at restrictions of any kind, and finding a balance between giving him free rein to express himself and setting reasonable limits, is likely to be an ongoing challenge for you. When you want him to do something, you must enlist his cooperation and appeal to his higher instincts and strong sense of fair play. Commands and heavy displays of authority will create much resentment and resistance in him, but if you treat him with respect, he will generally respond admirable.
Wills is unflinchingly truthful, also, and his blunt honesty can be both refreshing and appalling at times. He sees right through hypocrisy and pretenses and he is not shy about pointing them out. He will probably need some gentle schooling in the art of diplomacy and of protecting people's feelings. His good humor and good will are obvious, however, and therefore many people do not take offense at what otherwise might be a real blow!
Asc. Opposition Sun:
Wills appears or comes across very differently than he feels himself to be at heart. If you read the description of his sun sign and compare it to the interpretation of his rising sign, you will note some basic contradictions, as if the person he seems to be (shown by the rising sign) is completely opposite in some ways to who he really is inside (as shown by the sun sign). He may swing back and forth between two opposite ways of behaving. People may be surprised to discover that he is really much different once you get to know him, than he first appears.
Asc. Sextile Jupiter:
Jovial and sociable, Wills likes people and they like him. He also seems good-humored, generous, and above pettiness, so that other people are inspired to trust him.
He is likely to be popular and well-known in his neighborhood or school.
Asc. Conjunct Neptune:
Wills has a rather impressionable, malleable, and yielding manner, and as a child, he may not have a very clear sense of identity.
He is very compassionate and empathetic, also, and dislikes harshness or cruelty in any form. He tends to avoid confrontation.
Asc. Sextile Pluto:
Anything hidden, secretive, mysterious, or taboo holds great fascination for Wills, and he questions and probes until he gets answers. He loves to investigate the unknown.
The SUN in the birthchart represents who this child is at heart, his primary thrust in life, and what path he needs to follow in order to fulfill himself as a unique individual. It indicates who he is inside rather than the way he appears (which is shown more clearly by the Rising Sign).
Sun in Cancer:
At heart, Wills is a very emotional and sympathetic person who is highly sensitive to the feeling tone and subtle atmosphere surrounding him. He cries easily and often seems swept up by the ebb and flow of constantly fluctuating emotions. He instinctively seeks a safe harbor to retreat to, a private place that feels safe and protected, which is most often his mother or his home.
He is very attached to his family and to the beloved, familiar things of home, and he may be loathe to venture away from them for very long, especially when he is quite young. A natural shyness or reticence to open himself to strangers will be in evidence quite early, and he should not be pushed into sociability or a false show of "bravery." Allow him to set his own pace in meeting the world. Though his attachment to you may be thought of as "clingy" or "overly dependent," it is best to reassure him and to very gently encourage him to overcome his fears. Eventually, given plenty of support and the knowledge that you will indeed always be there to go back to, he will leave the nest quite happily.
Wills has a very nurturing, loving, protective side and he naturally responds to others' needs for comfort and care. Having pets or even a garden to tend will make him quite contented. He is also likely to be an enthusiastic chef and should be allowed to help with the cooking as much as possible. Food will always play an important role in his life, as a means to give and receive emotional sustenance as well as physical nourishment. You should take care not to substitute food for emotional comfort (i.e. "He hurt your feelings? Let's have some milk and cookies and forget all about it. . ."). This could easily become a habit of his that would be difficult to break later in life.
In fact, the habits that he creates in childhood are likely to stay with him throughout his life, and the attitudes and behaviors he absorbs now will always influence him strongly. He has an excellent memory, also.
Sun in 7th house:
Wills is a "people person" who may have little inclination or taste for solitude. Finding interesting things to do when he's on his own can be challenging. Companionship and friendship are everything to him, and he may not act very decisively unless he knows that at least one other person approves of his actions. Because of this, his friends and other significant people in his life can unduly influence him. He may also be a bit of a busybody, because he so much wants to be actively involved in others' lives. He will play advisor, peace-maker, go-between, or counselor to his playmates and friends throughout his life.
Sun Conjunct Moon:
The above description of Wills is so ingrained that he has little objectivity or real understanding of people whose temperament differs from him. At best, this means that he is sure of himself and of what he wants. At worst, he tends to be one-sided and unable to see issues from any viewpoint except his own.
Sun Opposition Neptune:
Gentle and sensitive, Wills does not withstand pressure, aggressiveness, or intense competition very well. When challenged, he is inclined to quietly withdraw and he needs to develop strength, stamina, and self-confidence.
His imagination is quite active and fanciful, and he is inclined to get carried away with his imagination. His gifts lie in the creative, imaginative, or spiritual realms. A pronounced interest in religion, or spiritual ideas is likely to emerge at a fairly young age. He may ponder questions about God or the nature of the Universe much more than other children, and simple, pat answers do not satisfy him. He has a great sense of wonder about life's mystery.
Sun Trine Jupiter:
It may seem that life is always on Wills's side, and that Fortune smiles on him more than on most people. Mostly that stems from the fact the he does not worry a lot and he seems always to expect everything to turn out well for him. He is generous and large-spirited, and the world responds to him in kind. The only drawback is that he may not be inclined to push himself, to work hard, or to be very motivated to develop the gifts and opportunities he has.
MERCURY represents thinking and reasoning processes, the way your child's mind works, his intellectual inclinations and way of communicating ideas.
Mercury in Gemini:
Alert, clever, and quick-witted, Wills is very inquisitive and grasps new ideas very rapidly. He is fond of words and ideas, and is likely to be very talkative, sometimes overly so. His mind never stops!
Mercury in 5th house:
Wills enjoys puzzles, board games, and word games--intellectually stimulating entertainments with an element of strategy or thinking involved. Intellectual competitions such as spelling bees or geography bees interest him too. Any inclination toward creative writing should be encouraged because he also has talent in this area.
Mercury Trine Mars:
Sharp-witted and quick at repartee, Wills enjoys lively discussion, debates, or intellectual sparring. He excels at games that require both skill and intelligence. He is likely to be quarrelsome, especially when he is bored.
The MOON in the birthchart indicates how he deals with and expresses feelings, how he experiences the world on an emotional, feeling, non-verbal level, what his emotional needs are, and what he needs to feel secure, comfortable and at ease.
Moon in Cancer:
Moody, sympathetic, very sensitive and easily hurt, tender-hearted, emotional, and responsive to the feelings and emotions of everyone in his environment, Wills needs a very supportive and stable home-base in order to feel secure within himself. A quiet understanding and acceptance of his tears and his feelings of hurt, fearfulness, sadness, or other emotions will help him deal with his sometimes overwhelming feelings. Allowing him periods to withdraw into his room and to avoid social contacts, or even to mope around, is also important.
Wills has an especially close emotional and psychic tie to his mother, and he feels very strongly whatever his mother is feeling, whether Mother is outwardly expressing herself or not. Wills's intuitive perception and sensitivity is very pronounced, particularly to those closest to him. In later life, he is apt to become overly dependent on friends, spouses, or his own children, unless he has had a very warm and solid relationship with his mother.
Being at home and engaging in domestic activities such as cooking, caring for pets, and so on, gives him a lot of satisfaction. Food may be very important to him, a symbol of nurturing, belonging, being close, receiving and giving love. He is likely to have stomach aches or digestive upsets when he is tense, worried, or when his sense of safety is threatened.
Wills also has a strong affinity for water, and finds living near a lake or ocean gives him a great sense of peace. Music, also, has a strong impact on Wills's sense of well-being, and choosing quieting, soothing, or uplifting pieces to play at bedtime can be very effective with him.
Making changes or emotional adjustments can be quite difficult for him, and he needs a lot of "babying" and reassurance during times of transition. He may even regress in his behavior for awhile, or become very withdrawn, but rest assured that it is only a temporary coping device for him.
Moon in 7th house:
Wills truly depends on his friends to be there for him, and he, in turn, takes care of them and is fiercely loyal. He may feel lost and at loose ends when playmates are unavailable, and losing a friend (whether through relocating or through a falling out) is deeply distressing. He gets very attached to his companions and friends. One of his best and closest friends may be a sibling.
Moon Square Mars:
Wills has a rather quick temper. Sudden outbursts and rash actions based on impulse, emotion, and the heat of the moment may be common occurrences. His anger is likely to be short-lived, however, if he is allowed to express it rather than stifle it. He needs to learn acceptable outlets for his feelings (i.e. "You can smash the pillow, but not your little brother. . ."). Martial arts may be an excellent way for him to learn to channel and direct his strong feelings.
Moon Trine Jupiter:
Wills has a buoyant, cheerful disposition, and having him around tends to bring others up. He is very generous and open, in a natural, easy-going sort of way, and he attracts many benefits and opportunities in life simply because of his friendliness. However, he is also inclined to let luck take care of him, and he may not push himself hard enough to develop his potential.
VENUS represents the way your child gives and receives affection, makes friends, and socializes. It also indicates artistic or creative inclinations.
Venus in Taurus:
Wills is a warmly affectionate, lovable child that thrives on a lot of touching, hugging, and cuddling. Once he forms an attachment to a friend, he is very loyal and sometimes possessive also. He does not readily let go of anyone or anything he loves. Food is very important to him as a source of pleasure and an expression of love, and he is likely to have quite a sweet tooth.
Venus in 5th house:
If Wills shows any inclination toward art or creative expression, he should be encouraged to develop his gifts in these areas. He also enjoys activities that require style, grace, and beauty, (e.g., figure skating or dancing). He may, however, prefer recreations that are less strenuous.
MARS represents your child's drive, ambition, will, energy level, and ability to assert himself.
Mars in Libra:
Wills hesitates to act decisively and assertively unless he has the support and approval of others. Sometimes he is very pushy or argumentative in his effort to get others to agree with him and give him the go-ahead.
Mars in 9th house:
When it comes to his beliefs and convictions, Wills will stand up for himself. He can also be self-righteous and preachy, which may be amusing to others when he's young, but not as he gets older. Having a cause or an ideal to fight for stirs him up and gets him moving as nothing else will.
Mars Conjunct Saturn:
Wills either lacks confidence or he feels that whenever he openly asserts himself and his desires, he gets knocked down. It is important to encourage him to go after what he wants and not to place heavy, burdensome expectations upon him. If his will is blocked consistently, he is likely to store up much anger and resentment.
JUPITER in the birth chart reveals the child's future aspirations, and how he seeks to grow and improve himself. It also indicates areas of natural confidence, success, or "luck."
Jupiter in Scorpio:
Daring activities which have an element of danger or mystery appeal to Wills. He wants to live fully and passionately and not hold himself back from anything life has to offer. From rock climbing to scuba diving or investigating caves or other out-of-the-way places, he thrives on challenge. He seeks to grow through delving into the mysteries of life.
He's also extremely resourceful and has a "nose" for opportunities. Even when he's a youngster, his shrewd judgment of people and situations will serve him well.
Jupiter in 9th house:
Wills is an insatiable learner, and is extremely interested in anything new, exotic, or foreign--be it ideas, people, or even food. Naturally cosmopolitan, he'll want to travel widely to expand his understanding of the world. Parents and teachers may notice that after a trip to a faraway or previously unexplored place, he's remarkably more confident and buoyant. A subscription to National Geographic magazine would inspire him. He would truly enjoy sponsoring a foreign exchange student, or being one himself. Tolerant of cultural or other differences among people, he's apt to acquire a wide variety of friends.
Jupiter Conjunct Pluto:
Wills has very strong ambitions and aspirations, though he may be disclined to divulge the nature or the extent of them. He achieves almost magical results when he makes a decision and directs his will. He doesn't avoid difficult experiences either, but actually seeks them out to learn and grow from. His powers of recuperation and regeneration are excellent also.
The position of SATURN in your child's birth chart indicates the areas in which he is especially insecure, about which he is most serious, and/or in which he works hardest or is hardest on himself. It also reveals those weaknesses which, through effort, may become his greatest strengths.
Saturn in Libra:
Because Wills often feels that even insignificant choices and decisions are heavy matters, he can have difficulty making decisions. He gets caught up in sifting, weighing, balancing, and comparing. Pressing him to reach a conclusion before he had time to consider the various options distresses him, so on minor matters it may be easiest for parents to decide what's best.
Wills also frequently feels that caring for other people is a big responsibility. If he's given the task of caring for a younger sibling or doing some errand or household job for a parent, he'll try his best, but he won't enjoy it much. The responsibility will weigh on him, though he may not say so. He takes arguments between other people quite seriously, and he won't readily forgive a broken promise--even if it was given on the most tentative basis. He has very strict inner rules about how people "should" behave toward one another, and if a friend disappoints him, he may withdraw from the relationship. In fact, he'll sometimes feel that other people are just too much trouble. He may seesaw between feeling lonely and wanting to be left alone.
On the positive side, he has a strong, impartial sense of fairness, and great dedication to fulfilling commitments and obligations toward others. On the negative side, he'll sometimes feel misunderstood, disappointed, and burdened by the need to cooperate with other people.
Saturn in 9th house:
Accepting other people's beliefs, faith, or outlook on life won't always be easy for Wills. Unless he's encouraged to be tolerant and open-minded, he may limit his experience considerably because of this lack of imagination or inability to visualize different ways of seeing and doing things. Becoming personally acquainted with people whose cultures or religions differ from his own can help to break down barriers and prevent the development of a narrow, insular attitude.
The Lunar Nodes are points formed by the moon's orbit around the Earth intersecting with the Earth's path around the Sun. These sensitive "power points" in our child's chart give vital information about those areas of life experience that he will instinctively be drawn to in order to fulfill his life purposes, as well as qualities he needs to develop and express in order to do so. They show where he can be most successful as he unfolds his natural talent
North Node in 7th House in Cancer:
Wills's life path has very much to do with developing both a sensitive awareness of other people and the capacity to cooperate. He's learning to temper competitive or selfish impulses with a concern for the others around him. Friendships and close partnerships are therefore of paramount importance to him all his life, and he may develop an unusual gift for bringing people together.
His destiny is really about "us" rather than "me", about finding a balance between independence and harmonizing with significant others in his life. Understanding this, you as his parent or caring elder may encourage him to value his connections to people and to work on resolving conflicts with others when they arise.
The qualities Wills needs in order to succeed in this endeavor are empathy, devotion, tenderness, and a willingness to be cared for in a nurturing way by other people. Encourage him to graciously receive, as well as give and support.
The slow-moving planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto represent the ideals, changes, and impulses of an entire generation. While the descriptions below may or may not describe your child as an individual, they will tell you about the climate of the times and the underlying issues and challenges of your child's age group.
For instance, when Neptune (which represents one's spiritual ideals, dreams, aspirations, fantasies and illusions) passed through the egalitarian and harmony-loving sign of Libra (from 1943-1957), the children who would grow into the "flower children," hippies, and supporters of the peace movement were born. Not every person born during that time became a hippie or identified themselves with the peace movement, but certainly they were affected by the feeling-tone and ideals of their age group and the times they grew up in. Thus, the following information is intended to give you insight into the important motifs and issues of your child's generation.
URANUS indicates where the impulse for change, innovation, liberation from the past, and experimentation with new forms is the strongest. It is where the status quo is disrupted or uprooted to make way for something new. Sudden inspiration and invention are also represented by Uranus.
Uranus in Sagittarius:
This age group (1981-1988) will make radical departures from established philosophies, ideals, religious traditions, and old ways of learning and understanding the world. The higher educational system will be upset and changed by these people. The drive for further knowledge, new frontiers and discovery make space exploration important to them.
They are highly adventurous, enterprising, daring, and sometimes foolhardy in their quest for new understanding. Their new concepts and philosophies may be a little bizarre, or at least seem to be at first. They are great lovers of freedom, also.
Uranus in 11th house:
Wills's collection of friends is apt to be lively, unusual, and varied because he enjoys mixing incongruous elements and experimenting socially. Even if he appears conservative or "mainstream" himself, he is drawn to others who are not. Tolerance for differences, acceptance of extremes, and investigating social customs and cultures quite divergent from his own is important to him. Prejudice and social inequalities rankle him.
NEPTUNE represents the quest for the ideal, the dream, for something more sublime. The sign it is passing through at the time of one's birth colors one's spiritual aspirations and ideals, and also indicates where the desire to escape reality, to fantasize, deceive oneself, and become lost in illusion is the strongest.
Neptune in Sagittarius:
Tremendous idealism, far-reaching vision, and a wide-open, expanded outlook on life characterize this age group (1970-1984). They believe that anything is possible and often overlook the immediate, obvious, and practical realities of a situation in their quest for something grander, freer, or more encompassing. Ungrounded speculation, airy fantasy, and the tendency to idealize whatever is foreign, faraway, or unattainable are the pitfalls of this age group. However, since their minds are not prematurely set and closed to new possibilities, they are likely to discover truths that more earth-bound minds would never see.
Neptune in 12th house:
Tenderhearted and sympathetic toward underdogs, victims, and any suffering whatsoever, this highly sensitive child feels for about everybody. Being around negativity, ill will, or harshness really upsets him, and he needs a little oasis of peace to replenish himself from time to time. He's also quite "psychic" and may share some amazing dreams or paranormal experiences if he senses his elders are open minded and receptive to such things.
Neptune Sextile Pluto:
Those born during this generation have the opportunity to advance spirituality and a consciousness of unity, universality, and brother/sisterhood. Only a few individuals may heed the call, but many will be influenced by them.
PLUTO in the birth chart indicates a process of deep change, transformation, and renewal, often through destruction or confrontation with darkness. This is a process that takes place in society as well as in individuals. Pluto's position in the birth chart shows where one is compulsive, extreme, or learning key life lessons.
Pluto in Libra:
Marriage and/or personal relationships tend to be obsessions with those in this age group (born 1971-1984), and equality, justice, and fair treatment in those relationships are passionate concerns. An awareness of the inevitability and need for continual change within a relationship may make them cautious about making permanent commitments. However, the need to experience deep connectedness and relatedness also compels them. Overcoming dependencies, fears, and resistances to deep sharing are major challenges for them.
Pluto in 9th house:
This child has an unusal passion for learning, and will develop powerful beliefs and convictions. For him, education is power, and he will never stop asking questions and looking for the deeper answers. His philosophical or religious ideas undergo profound changes throughout his life, and he may be either fanatical or secretive about his ultimate beliefs.
